La catena di grandi magazzini americana Macy’s ha lanciato un programma teso a trasformare i propri dipendenti in veri e propri influencer.
Il Macy’s Style Crew, come è stato denominato il progetto, è partito in autunno 2018 con una versione beta, che includeva appena 20 dipendenti di “bella presenza” e con un “buon numero di follower” all’interno delle piattaforme impiegate. Il numero degli “ambassador” è cresciuto molto presto: oggi sono oltre 300.
I dipendenti condividono sui propri social network i prodotti e i servizi offerti da Macy’s, collegandoli alla propria vita quotidiana, proprio come degli influencer. Non solo, sulla piattaforma digitale della catena, realizzano e pubblicano dei video tematici, che riguardano tanto se stessi quanto il mondo firmato Macy’s, creando così un engagement personalizzato. Un dipendente appassionato di escursioni, per esempio, ha caricato l’ultima sua avventura sulle colline di Los Angeles, indossando capi sportivi acquistabili direttamente, grazie a dei link dedicati, su Macys.com.
Per ogni acquisto andato a buon fine, il dipendente riceve anche una parte dei profitti sulla vendita di quanto sponsorizzato.
L’iniziativa di Macy’s – che ha chiuso il primo trimestre del 2019 con 5,54 miliardi di dollari – non è nuova, ma anzi conferma una tendenza che va sempre più affermandosi. Lo scorso anno, infatti, l’insegna di profumerie statunitensi ha annunciato di voler trasformare una parte del personale addetto alla vendita in beauty ambassador del brand.
